After taking a back seat in supporting roles in movies such as The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement (2004), Just My Luck (2006), and Smokin' Aces (2007), the actor Chris Pine finally made lead billing for a film when he accepted a lead role in the eleventh installment of the Star Trek series, taking on the part of Captain James T. Kirk.
