(CHRISPINE.ORG) - On Friday April 3rd, it was announced that Star Trek received a movie rating of PG-13 by the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA). The MPAA cites sci-fi action, violence and brief sexual content. Apparently, in this film James T. Kirk is still going through puberty and setting the tone for the intergalactic stud we all know as Captain Kirk.
This marks the third Trek film in history to achieve a rating lower than PG status by the MPAA. The other two films included Star Trek: First Contact and Star Trek: Nemesis.
